Let me tell you the (fictional) story about how these Dicota backpacks came about. Richard (Dick) Ota was a shy young man from a well-to-do background in South Dakota. An avid traveller, Dick went backpacking after graduating with an Honours Degree in Computer Sciences from the University of La Rouge.
A man with a computing background, whilst on his travels Dick found it hugely difficult finding a suitable a place to update his Twitter and Facebook statuses. The world was crying out to here every minute detail of Dick’s travel shenanigans like when he was on safari, what the time was in Bangkok or just how smelly the guy on the bus next to him was. But Dick’s statuses were silent.
On returning home from his Gap Yah, Dick decided to put the world right and bring backpacking into the 21st century. The wilderness needed Web 2.0. So Dick brainstormed. And he brainstormed. And some more.
Just what were travellers looking for in a backpack? How could the minority of his friends who cared and all those spam profiles really know what Dick was up to on his travels.
The Dicota Carry Case Backpack was born.
