As anyone trying to break the music scene will tell you - it’s all about the equipment. It doesn’t matter whether you sound like a cat being dragged through nettles or you’re the type of person to get through to the audition round of the X Factor, not based on your musical merits, but because a show full of talented people just won’t be as good.
