I once knew a Mexican named Remirez Schmokez by day, El Heato by night. They say El Heato was so smoking hot he could boil a bathtub just by his presence. The story of El Heato started when he was a mere boy of 8 years old. A local old lady’s kitten was stuck on the tip of a cactus, no-one around was brave enough to rescue the poor moggy. Until a then unknown Ramirez blasted a flame from his mouth and burnt the cactus to the ground where little Felixo could jump down into the arms of his owner.
Rather than being hailed a hero, young Ramirez was banished out of the village after speculation of his father’s true identity. For years Ramirez became streetwise, using his flames to find food and scaring off prey.
When Ramirez strolled into the town of El Habbiche on his 16th birthday a sudden thrust of welcoming change came over him. No longer was he going to be a wondering misfit, he was going to use his powers for good. El Heato was born.
For the next 15 years El Heato saved the local community from all sorts of dangers, and he was finally a hero.
Until one day, El Heato was called out to a routine stick-up in a cocktail bar when the tide turned and he was knocked out by masked bandits. He was never the same.
A broken man, El Heato spent the next decade hitting the bottle, Tequila his tipple. The Mexican tabloids called him a “fallen star” and “El Beato”. That was the end of El Heato, an overweight, fallen hero currently running on the Mexican Celebrity Big Brother.
