I just got one of these - living in the north east of scotland and what a complete waste of money - utter garbage.

You get ONE HD channel - BBC HD which only atarts broadcasting at 16.00 and shows 95% rubbish.

I would advise you to check what you receive in your area first as you will more than likely be disappointed - I have plugged back in my old non HD freeview box as there are some better channels available to me.

Are you sure you`re not confusing this with Freeview? - this is Freesat i.e. SATELLITE

EDIT: Freesat homepage here: Clicky...

So what are the various Freeview HD boxes on sale for then?

It depends on where you are... some regions CAN already get Freeview HD, which is BBC HD, ITV1 HD and Channel 4 HD I believe

Same price as last time 12 Jan 2010.

I think that its a bit high for me for a refurb FreeSAT rec when I can get a 2yr gaurenteed one for £89.

There are 2 HD channels at the moment BBCHD and ITV1 HD

Garbage - you can get much cheaper Freesat HD OR Freeview HD receivers - and to be honest, most decent branded TVs these days will have one or the other built in - PS3 will be getting Freeview HD compatible Play TV soon too and that will be under £100... pass...

I`ve already stated where I am and also said to check your individual location just to see what you can receive .... I don`t get freeview HD and never mentioned freeview HD.

I simply said in the NE Scotland the freesat HD ( satellite disk required ) only gets one HD channel, and it only starts broadcasting at 16.00 each day

Sorry for the misunderstanding - when you said ”you do not get ANY HD channels on freeview” that read as ”there are no HD channels on freeview” not ”I can`t get Freeview HD where I am” - doh

I assume you can`t get ITV1 HD just because you`re STV and don`t get ITV1 either?

Some people would say that not being able to get ITV1 is a bonus
