Royal Mail trialling London parcel service on a Sunday

2014 May 21st 12:09 PM

The Royal Mail aims to step up competition with rivals by piloting a Sunday collection service for the first time. The trial in London is a response to competitor attempts to steal market shares in online parcel delivery space.

The floated postal firm intends to cater to provide additional services to the 100 post offices which receive the highest parcel volumes on a Sunday afternoon. Attempting also to deliver parcels to addresses within the M25

Their competitors have already leaked plans to deliver on Sundays, including Hermes and DPD. Amazon of course, already offers services for their customers in London to receive deliveries on a Sunday.
